"All fighters throw punches but not everyone has learned how to properly defend themselves when punches come back. From beginners to champions, learning defense takes time. The lines of defense
1- Footwork
2- Head movement
3- Guard
4- Chin (last line of defense before getting knocked out)

What he said about trainers teaching you hands first instead of feet is so accurate 💯

Ward was such a great fighter! As he said he used his feet just enough to make you miss! Athleticism leaves u (Ali, Ray Leonard, Roy Jones). But skilled feet last, it doesn't have to be that fast if it's used at the right time (Andre Ward, James Toney, Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins) Canelo has good footwork to!

Dre is always class. Everything he says and does is a master class

Juan Manuel Marquez said his dad use to make him and his brother Rafa walk around the house because “If you want to learn how to box you need to know how to stand.”

I didn’t become an Andre ward fan until watching his training videos on YouTube. Man I missed greatness in action.

Fighters with no defense are for the casuals. I don't even consider a fighter who has no defense. Look at the fighters who have had longevity in the game (Klitscho, Ward, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mayweather, Fury, Ali, Holmes, Lewis.etc), they all had and have Good defense. For me you can't even be considered a boxer without a good defense (And a great chin is not good defense).

The feet work all day. Training them all day for defense is worth it. Hard to get knocked out when you are balanced. Easier to tell when your opponent is of balance if you understand yours first. Love ward. Knew when to attack.

Andrea has always been forgotten when the great boxers are mentioned. This dude here, he is top 3 middleweight greatest. He is low key and so that is where his legacy stayed in a smokey cloud. Would be awesome to see AW come back to fight Canelo.

Hella useful information being given out from one of the greats. I feel like a lot of fighters these days learn how to throw punches before they learn how to avoid them same punches. Also lol at Shakur in the background doing his best Steph Curry impression.

Andre ward is the goat in my eyes and I'm sure many of you will disagree but this man has probably lost 10 rounds at the very most in his whole career and this wasn't against scrubs either, his opponents have a combined win percentage of 90 percent. His opposition was actually great fighters that didn't have much popularity outside of their home countries and Ward put a clinic in all of those fights. Another fun fact: he hasn't lost a fight since he was 12 years old. People will never take that title away from Ray Robinson though because of Nostalgia.
