High-end brothel network busted in Virginia

Security concerns are being raised after the Department of Justice announced three people have been arrested and charged for operating a newtork of brothels, including two in Virginia. Some of their customers allegedly include elected officials, military officers and government contractors. FOX 5's Tisha Lewis has all the deatils from McLean.

This doesn’t sound like a brothel at all, it sounds like women were trafficked overseas for sex work and their clientele includes people in government. Also, I wouldn’t consider this a luxury apartment. $4k a month for an apartment is maybe at the high end, but certainly not luxury.

This is news? Coming out of D.C.? Tell us something we didn't know. I am more surprised this story got reported, than I am that there are brothels in D.C.. Of course there are.

Legalize, tax, and regulate. That is how we deal with prostitution in the Netherlands. I don't know what to think of this bust because there has been no allegations to be made of coercion or involvement of minors. If it's just consenting adults, there is no victim, therefore should be no crime. But if it involved coercion or minors, it would be a different story.

Why is prostitution illegal in the US? Is the US just incapable of protecting workers rights and therefore have to ban the entire thing from their own incompetence and laziness? Is this why Americans want to get rid of guns entirely too? I thought that was the "Land of the Free"? I thought you guys supported womans rights and let them own their own bodies, and let men have the right to make their own choices with how they spend their own money?

Intelligence operations feast on these things. Both foreign and domestic. They're looking for leverage. They don't necessarily need a high level person. Anybody who has access to sensitive information can be turned and used.

While there is certainly flat-out human trafficking done for cash, IMO these things are often run by intelligence agencies as a big net to catch useful fish. Very sad.
