Budgie in 100 Seconds - Linux

Budgie is a clean and modern desktop environment that focuses on being simple and user friendly. Budgie desktop (currently) uses the GTK toolkit and ships with some standard GNOME features and applications.

I have mixed feelings about so many environments leaving gnome. On the one hand fragmentation is never good and there’s already so much of that in the DE space. But then again with how hostile gnome is against customization I say it’s a good move. Not everyone likes gnome out of the box.

Do more of these videos. I feel like most linux videos could be condensed down to 100 seconds. Especially the neverending wave of reviews of distros and desktop environments that open every app, say "we've got this, but... and... and... but... if..." without really saying anything about the distribution. They tend to take 10+ minutes when 100 seconds is really all you need is a video saying "It has some basic apps, integrates some things, and breaks when you try to use the app store."

Considering the speed Josh and co have been developing Sol (the replacement for eopkg) at I wouldn't worry about having to redo this video in the next decade or two.

I hope Budgie will migrate with Cosmic in the same composer to get a bond and join forces.
The two DEs are very different, they have different approaches but they have the same problem at the moment, GTK, they love GTK but they hate how Gnome Team manages the project. Both has so much potential.
Hopefully they can do something together and get a good alliance.

I love Ubuntu Budgie so much, but I also love PopOS for its polished feel. I keep Budgie on my favorite system and PopOS on all else.
