NEVER sweep your fairway woods! Use this NEW technique instead it works really well

You have to stop playing your fairway woods like you do your driver. Right now, you have to stop sweeping them and lifting your golf ball into the air with your fairway woods. You have to start using this new method of hitting it like irons. This will make your FAIRWAY WOODS EXTREMELY consistent. If you do not hit down on your fairway woods, that is going to contribute to you fatting the golf ball, topping the golf ball with your fairway woods, and generally lacking distance with your fairway woods! Something I know you can fix using this new method to hit FAIRWAY WOODS EXTREMELY consistently!

NEW method to hit FAIRWAY WOODS & Hybrid golf clubs EXTREMELY consistently !
Here are 5 simple steps for you to follow, and this is what all good fairway wood players do. This can be done with a 5 wood, 7 wood, and 3 wood off the deck or even on a tee peg. Start lining the middle of the club up with the golf ball, not the bottom groove.

Key to fairway woods if high handicap is smooth swing. Do not try to crush a 3w unless you’ve got some skill

Alex Elliot!...Not sure how many golfers would agree to your instruction wrt to fairway woods and hi-brid off the deck.To me...ball position as you mentioned is an absolute solution as not to top the ball.Endless thanks to your perfecr coaching.🤝🤝🤝 0:00

All great tips Alex on hitting how to properly hit the fairway wood. I agree with you that the average amateur should not hit a #3 fairway wood and opt for the #5 fairway wood or #4 hybrid instead. Most muni golf courses which the amateur plays do not have cushiony fairways like the pro's play that is required to hit it. Better to give up a little distance rather than scuff a shot. Your ball position recommendations are right on! Well Done Alex!!

I have to say Alex, there are alot of golf gurus on youtube, but Ive found that your channel is the BEST and most informative golf channel on youtube. You not only have the purest golf swing I’ve ever scene in my life, but the tips & techniques you teach in your videos are fundamentally sound, easy to understand, and just as easy to implement on the golf course or at the range.

I had to humble myself to admit that Ive taken my golf game as far I am going to take it on my own. For as long as I can remember now, my scores have always hovered in the mid - high 80s range; and every year I am at it again, trying to knock a few strokes off my game.

I just feeling like my game wasn't improving every year the way it should, and it was really frustrating. Sure, I could have used the excuse that I live in Wisconsin, which means I have really only about 5 months to play each year. I couldve said it was because I needed new clubs, or because I needed some new clubs. The bottom line though, is that “excuses are just like assholes…Everybody has one & they all stink…And at the end of the day, making excuses will never help my golf game…

This year, rather than focusing on trying to play as much as I possibly can, I decided to take a step back and put a lot of my focus into becoming a student of the game. So far this season, I've been trying to soak up as much golf game knowledge as possible, learn some new skillsets, and improve upon every facet of my game.

Thats when I took to Youtube and just started watching hundreds of golf-guru videos.

Alex, I came across your channel about 6 weeks ago and I not only feel like Im learning from your videos, I can see it in my game. Last week I decided to try to beat the rain and I ended up shooting a 38, which for me is a hell of a round. Well, it was technically a ½ of a round.

The rain and lightning came just as was putting in my 4th par of the day on the 9th green. I know that a 5 over par score of 38 is probably not all that impressive for alot of golfers, but for me it was progress and a BIG step in the right direction. So I was excited!! I really just wanted to keep playing, but by this time the pouring rain was now being met with sporadic bolts of lightning, so I had to settle for 9.

As I walked into the clubhouse, completely drenched by now, the Bishop scene from Caddyshack popped in my head. You know the scene Im talking about where Bill Murray caddies for the Bishop has his best round ever and then gets struck down by lighting.

So now I'm cracking up thinking of that movie scene, so I walk up to the clubhouse attendant and says to him in my best Bill Murray Voice, “I think I'm just going to keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff is going to come down for quite a while.“
The dude knew right away where this was coming from and he starts laughing hysterically...

Sorry to get a little long-winded, but hopefully you all got a little laugh out of it…

In all seriousness though, It is because of Alex’s great videos that I feel my golf game is starting to turn the corner and really improve. I still make my share of bad shots…And if im putting great, my driver sucks…or my irons will be great and my putting awful. I think Im at least on my way now to putting a complete golf game together one of these days and I owe it to this channel…Thanks for the great videos Alex…

The hovering tip has worked great! No more topping🔥

Great tips Alex a big thank you. It makes me wonder if you can hover an iron in the same way so you can hit down on it more consistently.

Great video Alex as this is a major problem in my game at moment especially after hitting a great tee shot but what I’d like to know is what is weight distribution at setup? Is it 50-50 like a tee shot or a 60-40 also do we keep shoulders squared to target line or tilted slightly? As I’d like to know so that I can adjust my position accordingly at setup. Thx Andrew from Perth Aus

Hi Alex, I watched one of your videos where you put the club you were hitting on the ground, grip towards the hole, and placed a ball one foots length inside of that clubhead(?) to represent backswing path. I've watched everything you've got but can't find it again! I would really appreciate it if you could revisit that one. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the tips Alex. Question...I am struggling with sliding in my downswing instead of turning through the ball. When this happens I hit dead shanks to the right. I'm good with the turn in my backswing (no sway) it just happens in my downswing.

Alex thank you, you mentioned the "line on the ball", is that where my eyes should be focusing on or should they be on the "back of the ball" when swinging? I'm having no end of issues at present with 16 degree wood which continues to "top" the ball? By the way on our course we have a "16cm lift & place" anywhere except greens, as the fairways are real "ugly" due to Cyclone damage last year.

I have to play my fairway wood further back than I'd expect. I use a 5w, I can't hit a 3w worth a darn. I do have a question about follow through. When I follow thorough my club hits my right butt cheek. Most players' follow through is more horizontal and goes across their shoulders. What can I look for? I have video of my swing and it looks like maybe I'm not standing up after my swing, or I'm going turning to the target.

Alex may I add?

This will promote more in to out swing path.
Will prevent coming over the top and making a cut swing.

Thus by default will prevent fade / slice.

And will ensure good contact every time.
