[Classic HC] How to Level 1 to 40 in Under 40 Hours with Mount Gold (Ambush Rogue Showcase)

In this video, I talk about different ways to min-max your gold and leveling speed in World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore. I demonstrate this through an Alliance Rogue, but these strategies can be used across both factions and other classes. Some things I go over are grinding spots, stats, ambush, gold, daggers, Auction House, and more.

If you dislike quests as much as me and you like one shotting mobs with Ambush, I hope this video gave you some valuable information. Additionally, while I have not tested other classes, similar methods can be used to quicken and smoothen your Hardcore leveling journey.
Note: First 2 talent points should be Remorseless Attacks for the 40% chance to crit when opening up with Backstab or Ambush. If a mob dodges your Ambush, Gouge and Backstab.

Personally tried..ambush rogue with herbalism/skinning...the moment igot lvl 27 bis dagger and ambush rank 2. Jesus...best moments of my life in classic wow.legit one shots even without ony buff!! Thanks for making this !!! Blessed be!

Get to the questline "Snatch and grab" and ull get urself a 2.0 dagger called "Blade of cunning" which is good early, Dont attempt it alone though unless prepared, The goblin will spawn 3 bodyguards to defend himself. (Or just stealth and pickpocket him though make sure u got sprint ready if ur spotted)

The thing about questing that sucks is it really does feel like you are just running from zone to zone like half the time.

This BY FAR the best grinding guide i've used. I wish it didnt stop at 40 tho, cause i have to say- 40-50 is the worst time as a grind player and not questing. Every dungeon feels like it takes hours to set up and the quests are so spread is wild. Could you share some tips to how you found these spots to grind? What were you looking for and how did u see the density so well? The basilisk grind in Shimmering is just *chefs kiss* such a good spot and i want more of it! :p

I just got to lvl 38 on my warrior questing, professions, lots of long walking quests and generally being quite chill and doing some dungeons in 48 hours.

As arms, on my prot warrior i needed 12 more hours while playing way more chill and careful.

I made a rogue to test this out of curiosity because in all my years I never tried grinding and was looking for something relaxing to do at work.

So far the information seems fairly accurate. I’m at work so I have to take breaks for customers and still am getting comparable times for the levels.

The AH weapons are definitely a must and layer swapping helped me out a lot.

Also as of this morning I’m noticing a lot of Chinese Hunter bots at these locations.

I grinded the pit off crocs in shimmering flats from 30-34 (Troll rogue) then swapped to where the gazer's spawn at 34. However I'm not ambush spec. I found slightly slower times but its safe, fun and lucrative

Also i used to quest with this spec from 27-30, that's when i think it peaks :) Ambush does so much when you have remorseless too and the 27 green 2.0 speed dagger.

40 hours is a really good time though! I do wonder how much time you saved from World buffs / rested xp & did u buy any AH weapons?

Because i would guess you would have done 45h with grinding like this if u never quested (Still way better then questing without knowing what ur doing ofc)

Do you recommend going slow dagger because they are usually higher DPS and ambush is 250% weap damage? I couldn't find any info if speed effects the damage, only the % of weapon damage.

Example, the big bronze knife is 1.9 speed at 10 DPS. If i have a 1.5 speed dagger that is also the same 10 DPS is it the same outcome?

The best leveling experience I had was in GW2. It didn't even felt like leveling. I was just running around doing events.

Also the whelps will make you a shit ton of gold if you auction the flamesacs

Something you can add to make insane amount of gold. Farm elementals. You can farm Elemental Fire in Arathi Highlands or Elemental earth in Blasted lands. You can farm those almost untill you hit level 60 and still get EXP, as a lvl47 is seen as Green to a level 60.

I used this method while I was leveling my rogue during phase 2 in classic wow.
