Takes me back to the early 80s. Dc101 gave this song a lot of air play. How blessed we were to grow up in dc Balt areas in that era. Wish someone could invent a time machine.

Hammerjacks...mid 80s. Man, the old concert hall had a bar in it and you could sit there and drink and enjoy live music. It was indeed the time and place to be.

Hammerjacks was the bomb in the 80's. Especially being underage and getting in to see these guy's rock & many other band's!🤘💯

Saw these guys back in the early eighties. Now almost 40 years later I still got the itch! KIX aren't just for kids, they're for grandpa's too.!

I remember when this came out. 98 Rock in Baltimore played it a lot...

Back in high school this song saved me from a beating. I had it on a cassette of songs recorded off the radio. I was walking home listening to it on a little portable cassette player when a couple older high school seniors came up on me. Just as they were getting ready to thump me one noticed this song playing. Instead of pounding me they ended up asking me about the band. Thanx Kix!

Knew Steve since the 70's this came out in 10th grade and they were huge from the get go locally. Had they hit 2-3 years later when MTV went big nationally in 83 or so they may have rode the music video revolution to fame. They were SO much better than most of the 80 hair bands who had more commercial success than Kix did it's a shame they didn't get the fame, money and recognition they deserved though did ok overall and are still rocking to this day!

WTPA, FM104, Harrisburg PA, 1981...they played Atomic Bombs as the first single from a band called KIX. HOOKED IMMEDIATELY! Went out the next day and bought the album...still have it, still play it. City Island, Altland's Ranch, Hammerjack's, Countryside...good fkn times!

Takes me back to the fall of 1981. Not sure if this was a national hit. But thank God I lived in Maryland.

The 98 Rock (wiyy) morning show with Kirk Mark and Lopez (RIP, you are missed) always ended the show with this song. This brings back so many great memories.

Dammit! I remember cruising around blasting Kix from my Audiovox speakers in my 1970 Datsun 510 back in the day. Fun times!

The waning sounds of that echoey guitar outro is as if it's being broadcast from a time machine over a distance of over 40 years ago. Chilling!

Seen 'em live at the Stardust Lounge in Southern Maryland many times. The wooden floor of that old iconic place really transmitted that pounding rock right up through my bones. I miss those days. I have a friend that moved to Carolina, but when he lived here in Md, he used to go to see them with us and I can still see him standing with one ear up against the over driven speakers with a beer in one hand and a shot in the other. It's a wonder he can still hear anything. Kix never failed to satisfy that need to rock hard and let all the tension from the work week just melt away. One of the great hard rocking bands still performing and they have a few dates scheduled this month around the Annapolis area (In February 2020) I'm going to try to be there. General admission tickets are only $40.00 and that's one hell of a bargain these days.
