I have a friend in her 30s who's growth 'froze' around 12. She took all the growth hormones but just didnt grow anymore. She lives alone and supports herself completely. While she definitely attracts only creeps, she has started getting a few wrinkles in her face that help her look a little older. With the whole ID at the bar thing, I’m sure she provides medical papers or some sort of “doctors note” as well, because if she provides both her ID and a medical note proving her condition and she’s still refused service, it can count as discrimination against people with disabilities and the bar can easily get sued.

I was working security at an amusement park and there was once what appeared to be worlds creepiest dad kissing his daughter periodically throughout the park. it was reported to security by concerned bystanders and prompted a whole response where we followed them around from a distance to confirm the reports, once we were sure what was happening we got police involved and all else. dude nearly got arrested, turned out to be something similar to this where the girl didn't age and "dad" was her boyfriend. I can say from that experience this has to be a shitshow to live.

In public school my best friend's mom was like 5 nothin and extremely petite. She was late 30s and had a 10 yr old son and 7 yr old twin girls. Every time she came to our school she'd be mistaken as a student. I can only imagine what people treated her like. Funny thing is she was the fiercest little woman I've ever met. She had so much freaking confidence and didn't give a shit what anyone thought about her. Total mama bear too. She was a great woman.

I think I can give the dad a pass for being over protective, he watched his daughter go through brain cancer. That couldn’t have been easy thinking you might lose your daughter so he doesn’t want her to be in any danger.

As a 5’ person who is in their late 20’s I can say I still sometimes get mistaken for a minor and it generally concerns me when a stranger hits on me.
I know I’m legal but do they? Are they a creep who is aiming for someone who looks young? It’s a real concern and I worry for this woman. Will she be able to find a healthy relationship?

Ken’s actually right about the Patuitary gland. It is responsible to kicking off puberty. There are also rare conditions that keep people from aging past a certain point. If you’ve ever seen the old Batman show, one of the villains was a woman who used her youthful appearance for a Shirley Temple-like tv and movie career. Actually, one of the more unsettling characters on that show, really.

I can understand the things she has to go through, I was born with dwarfism so I am at the height of a 7 year old while I'm in my 20's. It does make things very difficult.

Nurse here: It’s likely her anterior pituitary gland was damaged from chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Because of this the gland stopped producing Adrenocorticotrophic hormone and GH growth hormone. If her pituitary tissues are ruined/destroyed replacement hormones might not work well. Replacement hormones act more as stimulants of the pituitary

I recently saw a video, and unsure of the specific condition that caused it but it was a family supporting their 30 year old who's stuck in a toddlers body. I'm glad her family is very supportive and understanding and helpful.

As someone who looked fully grown at the age of 12 (and was often mistake as such), this blew my mind! I can't imagine how hard this is for her.

It must be absolutely frustrating to be in her position. You'd question whether everyone who was attracted to you is a creep and if a guy happened to fall in love with her personality, he'd constantly be worried about what people will think...also if they were ever PDA in public, imagine how many people would approach them trying to save her. The only way I can think of is when she gets older and starts to show age, then she will look matured but just short or she finds men who have similar stature they won't fetishise her and won't be regarded as creeps by everyone.
