Competed in the 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally with pilots Jacky Ickx and Claude Brasseur. The car did not finish due to severe damage after Ickx hit a large stone hidden in the sand while leading during the 8th stage of the race. The car had to be withdrawn from the competition because the vehicle could not be made road worthy in a reasonable time. After that, the vehicle was handed over to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. It was purchased by one of our customers in 2014.

I've never understood why they only fixed this car and didn't do a full Restoration, the car now looks like it's got a new front and the rest looks like it's done a Dakar. I understand you wouldn't restore the winning car or even wash it but this one didn't even finish the race it was so badly damaged and now it's like they restored the front end only. Very strange!
