Three state elections are slated for next month in eastern Germany and the far-right party Alternative for Germany is expected to pull off its best result ever. The anti-immigration, pro-Russia party is leading in the polls in all three races. Victory would represent the biggest electoral success for a far-right nationalist party since the Nazis were in power.

On the other hand the German policy was not very innovative in the last 20 years!!

And this is a result.

Immobility in politics is never good. To me, the CDU and SPD are responsible for that.

As far as I understand it the AfD is actually supportive of Israel because of a general anti-islam stance.

Doesn't Israel have a far-right government?

Shouldn't the question be, why are ordinary people voting for the ADF. Surely the more moderate parties are failing.

Why is being concerned about mass immigration considered 'far right'?

The problem is the current government and the current press coverage which is not free at all and doesn't cover the huge support for the right in a neutral way.

Far right is gaining momentum across Europe. What is the reason? Any guess?

Maybe if the German govt had listened to it's citizens concerns about mass migration, crime and the economy, this would've never happen!

WWII took only 5 years. Look at Australia for the last 200 years. 200 years ago there was no one in Australia but only the Aboriginals speaking 275 languages and 800 dialects. Loo at the Americans from Canada to Argentina for the last 400 years. Slavery and colonialism. Yet, all the talks and history lessons are about WWII. Why? Germans must move on from WWII and face the reality going on right now for their future Germany.

is nothing wrong about loving your country and wants to defend traditional family values in times like this...
If that's fascist, something is seriously wrong in the world

AfD is not antisemitic at all and fully supports Israel.

Germans have the right to elect who they think is better for Germany.

Is not just in Germany 😮 france, Italy, etc, far right means nothing, is a government looking after his citizens first, what's wrong with that 😊

Well, they should do exactly that - AfD should mean "A fascist destination"...!
However, the Netanyahu government makes the AfD seem like a bag of marshmallows.
Anything to say about that...??

I find it problematic that government funded television weighs in on political races in that country, how can you claim to be impartial and not suppressing freedom of the press

People have been told who not vote for by ruling political parties and media outlets for the better part of a decade. In the mean time they have seen their living standards nothing but deteriorate with working poverty becoming an all too normal phenomenon. Are we really surprised that they show a reaction through the ballot box. It’s too easy to stigmatize voters while refusing any ounce of accountability for a disastrous track record in power.
