In the early 90s a PBS production called Tosca from Rome was my introduction to opera. Raimondo was Scarpia, Catherine Malfitano was Tosca and Placido Domingo Cavaradosi. I was overwhelmed! I became a devout opera fan after. Te Drum a favorite piece?

Io, poco più che bambina, l’ho visto interpretare SILVA, nell’Ernani, avrà avuto poco più di trent’anni, insieme a lui cantavano: la Ligabue, Corelli e Cappuccilli, a quei tempi i cast erano tutti formati da numeri uno, quando si usciva, sembrava di avere fatto un’escursione in paradiso……
