Walker Buehler, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers — August 5, 2017 — Oklahoma City Dodgers (Triple-A Pacific Coast League)
Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitching prospect Walker Buehler throws in relief for the Oklahoma City Dodgers during an August 5, 2017 Triple-A Pacific Coast League game against the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets) at Cashman Field in Las Vegas, Nevada. Walker Buehler is the Los Angeles Dodgers' top prospect, and even though he's a starter by trade and nearly certain to be one in his big league career, the Dodgers are transitioning him to relief at the end of this year to both protect his innings count and potentially have him ready for a playoff run in the back end of their bullpen. That's because he offers a 95-98 mph fastball that's among the most free and easy you'll see all year, and pairs it with a 90-92 mph slider and an 82-83 mph curveball, both of which miss bats and give the righty a very imposing power profile on the mound. Here he is throwing 1.1 innings of relief for the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
