I'll never throw away an excuse to sing about D&D. I actually start DMing my first campaign this Wednesday (pray for me).
This is a lil' song and video for Eldermancy's new 5e supplement to spice up your tavern experiences.

(thank you to Logan for asking me to take part in the shenanigans as well! this was a blast to work on)

Don't you love it when you hire a bard to entertain in your tavern, and the bastard only sings of other taverns being better.

Dm “Did you REALLY have to cast Gate MULTIPLE times just for relevant relocation for a song!?”
Bard “of course I did.”
(Dm-ly sigh) “that’s a grievous waste of magic.”
Bard “do I at least get some DM inspiration for the song?”
Even deeper DM-ly sigh “…of course you freaking do, that shit was great, ”

DM: I don't get it, how does the Bard keep seducing everything they meet? Their charisma can't be _that_ high
the Bard:

"Who let this tavern become such a bore and why does the inn have so little in store?"

The barkeeper: *why must you hurt me this way?*

God I love the inflection in "..and really, don't fight it, believe me I've tried..." paired with the animation it just really sells a very SPECIFIC story and god do I love it.

This demands a pub crawl campaign. Like the plot is literally just journeying between them and getting into drunken misadventures.

This is the perfect campaign, where everyone just goes around visiting taverns in different planes of existence.
The BBG is the first tavern owner who didn't give them a free drink after they kill a monster inside his tavern and made the adventurers go away for destroying (most) of his tavern...

Wonderful to see D&D stuff from Anna, two great things in one!

I love how the goblin looks more angry at blood getting on the carpet than the possibility of a dead body.

Me: "why must every bard roll nat 20 whenever I am around?"

Annapantsu, Cami-cat, Jocat: "we don't always roll nat 20"

Me: **points at literally every video where they sing even a single line of song**

+1 for "oh my god the cute little goblin? in her uniform!"

In my mind that teleportation staff will take you anywhere in existence... as long as it's a tavern.

In a cosmic horror campaign I was running, I had a royal with a painting called "Tavern From Another World" and it’s the Nighthawks painting. Anyone can enter inside it and they’ll be in the Phillies diner which is also a secret tavern and can sometimes meet denizens from different universes/realities/timelines who have also went into the Nighthawks painting in their world.
The guy running it is the waiter in the actual painting named either Ray or Jay and speaks in an old New Yorker accent. He's always happy to see new customers, especially bards who are willing to play songs. When you come in with no customers around, you'll always find him reading newspapers or listening to the radio. He's always got an ear open for you and will happily listen to your problems.
At Phillies it's always really late at night, no matter what time it is. The atmosphere always feels lonely whenever its quiet. Phillies serves food from 1940s diner menus and has a secret menu for alcohol of all kinds from the real world back in the 1940s. Any violence or threats made will be forcefully teleported out of the painting by Jay and can no longer enter Nighthawks. Whenever the adventurers come in, I usually have some weird outlandish customers leaving. Like a Shadowrunners, Mad Max style post apocalypse people, cyborgs, mind flayers from a universe where they're a good species, goblins who look uber cute, anime elves, etc. One time I had a dead character, who was corrupted by the cosmic horrors, who was also a dear friend to one of the adventurers, come to Phillies and reunite with that adventurer. Only to find out that the friend is actually from a different timeline where the adventurer died instead of him.

I spent the last few minutes transcribing lyrics, 'cause Youtube CC thought the song was in dutch. There is one line I'm not sure about but apart from that it seems pretty accurate Edit: I feel like this is pretty much all correct
Welcome, welcome. One and all.
This place is so filthy, why stay here at all?
Why rest in a place so painful and small?
There's nothing to dazzle, no spark of enthrall.
Who let this tavern become such a bore?
Rarely does an inn have so little in-store.
But what if I told you there's so much more.
Let me show you a place I simply adore.

Tired while travelling? I've got just the stay.
Your own cosy cabin in the Rail-away.
The train never stops, you may go as you please,
And everything's fine 'long as you pay their fees.
But we can't stay too long, now just as before
And I could be wrong, is that blood on the floor?
Looks like we aren't welcome, you can't ride for cheap.
Let's venture on forward to the oceans deep.

Well, the Drunken Treasure's a haven below,
But where it is exactly, I'll never know.
Oh, And don't be surprised by what uh lurks on outside. (calling him Jim)
And really, don't fight it, believe me, I've tried.
Let's all take a breather, we'll hope for the best.
The first round's on me, but you'll pay for the rest.
I hope that this tavern hasn't left you bored,
Next up is a place that is fit for a lord.

Follow my lead to the Watering Hole.
Just know that the fog is always on patrol.
This tavern's my favourite, it's got its own band.
And they're always more than happy to lend me a hand.

Welcome, welcome. One and all.
Come visit these taverns. Come and have a ball.
Why settle for less? And why settle for small?
It's your game to play, why not come try 'em all?
