About 3am many years ago I had a 20 gallon bedroom tank burst. Hearing a lovely creek noise in my bedroom was nice until I woke up enough to realize what was happening. There was still a couple inches of water left and as I recall I didn't lose any fish but what a nightmare. . . Get some flex tape. It is advertised on TV so it has to work! Lol!

Well you got to change the battery’s of coarse 😂 is just drop the water and silcone it after I clean it up for a good seal repair… the bloopers hahaha

I'm guessing it depends...in the basement, yep - just wait and see; sitting on top of brand-new hardwood floors, you bet that puppy is out of here! :-)

Your common sense approach is much appreciated! Thank you

Crack at the top by the bulkhead, there is no pressure imposed on the glass from the water so it will last years still. If it were near the bottom, it is more likely to cause issues, but in my opinion this is nothing that anyone can complain about.

Worst case, and a good repair, drain it past the bulkhead, remove the bulkhead, cut a piece of place glass from top of tank to past the bulkhead. Mark the bulkhead hole, drill out the plexiglass, slap the plexiglass on it with some aquarium safe silicone. Reattach bulkhead, let the silicone cure, refill the tank, carry on. Keep up the no nonsense post Michael, we luv ya buddy!!!

I have a 55 gallon with a crack in the side I don’t believe I’ll be trusting it to hold water but I did test it and no it don’t leak, my anxiety won’t let me fill it in the living room next to my 65in tv😂😂 so we use that as the back side and it’ll be a gecko terrarium soon

omg!! why use a cracked tank?? kidding, yes ive done the same for myself. and your right it depends on the situation, in my case, its my garage where i dont care if that tank bursts. its also just housing snails, so they will actually survive for a bit while out of water. great vid!

Something like that can last years, esp if you slap a little silicone on it. It's not crazy

Still married partly because I haven’t had a tank explode yet.

Psh little silicon on it and she good to go

It probably won’t leak if you don’t disturb that bulk head. You could temporarily drain it to just below the crack and silicone over the cracks……..if you are losing sleep from it.

Glad to see you didn't turn into a snowflake with the ground shaking....😂

The crack has terminated at the drilled hole there is only a very small chance the crack will continue as it has found its lowest stress point…silicon it and get on with life. It’ll be fine

Just replace the tank Man A tank that size is cheap anyways your livestock is worth more than it is to replace that tank so why risk losing them and you have a responsibility to your animals to keep them safe so come on Michael stop being cheap you make a poop ton of money you should be able to afford to replace a tank come on
