Special Counsel Jack Smith to resign before Trump takes office

Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has led the federal election interference and classified documents cases against Donald Trump, is planning to step down before the president-elect assumes office in January. Trump has previously said he would fire Smith "within two seconds" of being sworn-in. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
