Destiny Beta: The Lore of Earth's Story Missions (So Far)

Destiny's story and lore is one of the least explained and least known things about the game so far. We got a taste of the story in the beta, with two major storylines having started: The Hive's presence on Earth and the story of Rasputin, the last Warmind.

It seems interesting that the story missions so far seem to branch... with one path being the "Darkness" missions and another the "Warmind" missions. Would those two be the only branches, all the way to the Expansion Pass (one seems to fit the Darkness set), or would it keep branching into a multitude of other stories? September is not coming soon enough for me

Is Old russia the only playable location on the earth?  If so, it has me worried that the missions will use the same exact landscapes and corridors over and over again :/

I wonder if they are races that the traveler helped before coming to humans. The thing is obviously very powerful, with capabilities of bringing dead back to life, it can Teraform planets, and is a power source for the guardians. The Fallen may have fallen from grace from the Traveler's previous attempts to do for them what it was trying to do for humans. So I'd bet that they were abandoned the traveler, or they were a failure of the traveler, guess that goes either way. I wonder if they are chasing it to reclaim what it has to offer by force, or maybe attempting to destroy it so that others it elevates can't be a threat.

theroy: hive are zombified fallen. my best evidence is that of how the acolytes fight you. which are similar to dregs. probably something like the flood in halo, but exclusive to the fallen.

There was a post on Reddit, translating the transmission (It's in russian) and from what the translations said, Rasputin is completely insane.

There was an update file to download on PS4, 32MB for Destiny wonder what it was. Hopefully something good, but probably just some fixes.
