for anyone who doesn't know: they wrote this song based on comments of people saying these things affected their ocd, rhett and link know ocd is more than just making things perfect

There is someone in my class that tells everyone that they have an OCD because they arrange things. Its like saying someone is dead because they are laying down

For those with an understanding of music theory, they don't even resolve the chord progression at the end of the song. The chorus is written in C Major, and the final chord of the song is a G Major chord (or dominant), which composers often resolve back to the C chord (the root). A fun nod for those who listen for it.

We understand that OCD is a serious mental disorder that significantly affects the lives of millions of people (including Rhett's wife).  This song is not intended to make fun of people with OCD, but rather to demonstrate and poke fun at the tendency of so many people to point out things that are off-center, off-balance, etc. and say "It's driving my OCD crazy!".  We have an extensive discussion about this very thing, as well as what OCD really is, on tomorrow's episode of Good Mythical Morning.  Thanks - R&L

We all have that one friend that organizes your room instead of playing games.

Sadly, that person is me.

It's a tradition to come back to this every once in a while.

I have severe OCD, but I love making light of it and this song slaps lmao. Love Rhett and Link. I have not just perfectionism, but intrusive thoughts which is terrible, but I’d rather laugh than cry haha

When you have ocd, there are one million ways to open a door.

*but only one of them is correct*

what people think OCD is like: Organize everything.
what it's really like: If I don't close my door three times before going to bed then I will for sure die.

Had to go down memory lane after the wired interview. These songs are still gold.

as someone with OCD the exhaustion from doing compulsive behaviors is so accurate

Someone said "Shout out to the person who really organized all the food." But I'm betting it was actually Link.

The fact that this was from 5 years ago makes me feel old

Nobody:
Rhett: those hooday *STRANGS*

(EDIT: I normally don't like people who make edits, but every time I look at the reply section, whenever somebody added a part to the reply section, I realized, we recreated the entire song that originated from a shitty comment.)

I don't think you will see this, but in 2019-ish I was diagnosed with OCD myself after struggling with it since I was a child. One of the things that helped me realise I wasn't crazy was this exact song. So thank you, Rhett and Link.
