Enclosing my utility trailer...gel coat next

This is a short video of my trailer. I built it for a 19ft boat...then converted it into a utility trailer and now I'm enclosing it. I have already laminated the wood and plan to put two coats of gel coat on it.

You have the best built trailer I have seen so far, I really wish you was able to record live videos for each step you did I'm trying to turn a mobile home frame to a enclosed trailer without having to weld the over head frame looks great man keep up the good work

Thats a nice build there!. I wanna build a 14 ft enclosed trailer for a food truck. But will the wood be strong enough? Thats what i worry.

One more thing, just know the only reason I was able to get away with using wood on the majority of this build is because I had steel railings to support alone would not make a good enclosed trailer

I used metal studs on my 6x12. Also metal roof panels for the sides and roof. I wish I could post it on here oh, but you did a good job

Greetings Move It
Thank you for the kind words. Well, my plans have changed. I have put a coat of resin and gel coat on the trailer but I decided that won't be enough. I plan to basically wrap it with aluminum. The stuff I plan to use is aluminum pipe jacket. The jacket comes in rolls 36"X whatever feet. I'll try to get that job on the Tube....stay tuned.

It looks good, but what did you do to finish the trailer top section where there is a gap between the top and the sides? I want to do a similar build, but I am trying to figure out how to waterproof the entire trailer. I have been told you can do 1/2 plywood and flat shower panels for the top, sides, and front. Guess we will see.

this thing went from light and easy to use. to a heavy yard ornament real fast.

Man, that’s gonna be stupid heavy when you’re done. Looks great but I’d go aluminum for the long “haul”.. 😝👌🍺

What is the final weight of the trailer after the build?

I’m a little late to the party, but did you ever post detailed pictures? I want a utilized trailer with the ability to convert lol.

How did you attach the framing that you built? Also, was the top bar of the metal framing flat or was it an l shape that you had to make a cutout for on the wood framing before attaching it?

How much weight did you add? I would like to do the same but I already added 800 lbs I’m reinforcing the deck and rails.
