Giant 14-Segment Arduino Display Sign

Built a large digital 14 segment display board using 28 servos, an arduino microcontroller, and a cellular modem (to receive SMS messages) that could be seen from over 100 meters away. Due to COVID-19, visitors were not allowed into MGH hospital, so I used this to transmit messages to the hospital room on the 9th floor. The device has a USB interface to send text strings, or SMS messages can be sent to the integrated modem. Each segment panel was hand cut and then covered with reflective street sign tape. Messages transmit one letter at a time, and then loop.
