Ukrainian refugees arrive in Montreal

Ukrainians were met in Montreal at Trudeau airport Sunday, May 29, 2022, There were people there waiting to meet some of them (friends, family etc) while others will be taken to airport hotels for their first few days here. Ukrainians were on a chartered flight from Warsaw. Approximately 300 Ukrainians were on board.

since they are going to be forced to learn french in 6 months, 90% will be moving to other provinces shortly

As a English speaking person from Ontario, I once stopped at a McDonalds in Montreal to get directions. They were the least welcoming people I have ever encountered.

Was I the only one who actually laughed when the opening line was "Quebec is a very welcoming place".. The province that openly says they don't like refugees, brown people, or anyone who doesn't speak French... And speaking of French, thanks to bill 96, you all have just 6 months to learn it before getting your access restricted..

Yes, for sure! Canadians should do all that we can to welcome these Ukrainian refugees even though most, if all not, Canadians can't afford their own homes or pay their rents. Some Candians can't even afford buying groceries to put on their dinner tables, or gassing up their vehicles so they can drive to work. But we should feed and house these Ukrainian refugees, and forget about our citizens who have no shelters or foods .

I once spent 2 hours lost in montreal less than 2 blocks from my destination because my phone died and literally every single person i asked (probably 2 or 3 per minute for 2 whole hours so lets say ~300 people) all refused to help me. Quebec is not only the least welcoming place in Canada, it may well be the least welcoming place in the western hemisphere. If it wasnt for places like north korea it would be the least welcoming place in the world

Ohhh get lost. Look after your own Canadian people in this country. It's hard here for many people too. The homeless and hungry living on the streets.
