Olympia Odos: Demolition of old Rio toll station

The overnight demolition of the old Rio toll station was completed successfully in the early morning hours of Saturday. Earlier at 6 on the Friday afternoon, traffic was diverted to the ONR so that demolition works could take place safely and also immediately begin widening and reconstruction of the motorway at this point.
The area of the old toll station will be the entrance to the new Rio “super-interchange” with multiple entrance and exit ramps that will serve eight different directions.
Already, as of midnight Thursday 09/02/2017 to Friday 02/10/2017 the operation of the old toll station was discontinued and moved to the new Rio Frontal Toll Station at KP 202.4 (at the area of Ag. Vassilios).
