Balea waterfall, Transfăgărășan Romania

Bâlea waterfall is situated on the northern side of the Făgărăşan mountains, close to the transfăgărăşan road at 1234 meters altitude.

This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls and at the same time one of the highest in Romania. Starting from an altitude of over 2000 meters, from Lake Bâlea, the Bâlea river descends quickly and at an altitude of 1400 meters and it forms a wonderful waterfall of approximately 60 meters.

The access to Bâlea Waterfall can be made starting from Bâlea waterfall Chalet, which can be reached by car on Transfăgărășan, followed by a tourist route marked with a red dot. The route has a light walking and a rock climbing section, but without excessive difficulties or with a high degree of danger. At the cabin it is indicated on a sign that the route would take 30 minutes, but for an untrained person this route can be done in about 1 hour.

Într-adevăr traseul nu este foarte dificil, dar ultima parte este semnificativ mai grea fata de tot traseul! Neaparat incaltari adecvate si luati in calcul ca temperatura este mai joasa la cascada :)
