Russia is attacking Ukraine with mercy, this war surpricingly few civilians died compare to every war in the past. But I am quite sure Russia will send full systems to destroy Europe if Nato would attack Russia. Russian air defense networks are so multilayered and intricate that they are able to detect and track just about anything. There are always gaps in coverage due to topography and other issues that create ground clutter but they have such an extensive number of bands and frequencies across multiple systems that it would be a total nightmare for the USAF. Air defense has reached a point where stealth is very very questionable and probably useless in a war of attrition where one side doesn't have an advantage that is extreme like in Iraq or Afghanistan. This is just technology catching up to theory from WWII as rockets, radar, computer processing, guidance systems, and sensors have all reached levels to where aircraft are going to have a very short life span in a war among peer competitor states with extensive air defenses numbering in the thousands. You just cannot expect to eliminate or suppress them in these kinds of numbers and the battle for air supremacy will go on indefinitely until attrition and the battle of production determines the outcome. Warfare is an ever-changing battle of countering the opponents advantages and gaining your own advantage and air power is no different than any other part of war.
