-English: In this Springtime trip, we're driving from the mountain town of Metsovo towards Perama, an old village that is now considered part of the suburban area of Ioannina, in Epirus, Greece.
We begin our trip in Metsovo, a scenic town in Pindos Mountain Range and close to Egnatia Odos (A2 Highway), and take the old Ioannina - Trikala national road towards Ioannina; this road is now become almost absolete because of Egnatia Odos.
In the first part, that takes us from the main entrance to Metsovo towards Mikro Peristeri village, we drive through the narrow and sheer cliffside road that offers a gorgeous view towards the west of the Pindos Mountain Range.
The beautiful aroma of rain, pine and herbs, accompanied by the song of a miriad birds and insects, and almost non-existent traffic, make this route one of the most enjoyable in Epirus.

-Ελληνικά: Σε αυτή την ανοιξιάτικη εκδρομή οδηγούμε από την ορεινή κωμόπολη του Μετσόβου προς το Πέραμα, ένα παλιό χωριό που πλέον θεωρείται προάστιο της πόλης των Ιωαννίνων.
Ξεκινάμε το ταξίδι μας από το Μέτσοβο, τη γραφική κωμόπολη που φωλιάζει στην Οροσειρά της Πίνδου, πολύ κοντά στην Εγνατία Οδό (Αυτοκινητόδρομος Α2) και παίρνουμε την παλιά εθνική οδό Ιωαννίνων - Τρικάλων με κατεύθυνση τα Ιωάννινα. Λόγω της Εγνατίας Οδού, αυτός ο δρόμος είναι πλέον σχεδόν εγκαταλελειμμένος.
Στο πρώτο μέρος, που μας ταξιδεύει από την κεντρική είσοδο του Μετσόβου ως το χωριό Μικρό Περιστέρι, διασχίζουμε τον στενό και απότομο ορεινό δρόμο που μας προσφέρει καταπληκτική θέα προς τα δυτικά της Οροσειράς της Πίνδου.
Το μεθυστικό άρωμα της βροχής, των κωνοφόρων και των βοτάνων, σε συνδυασμό με το τραγούδι από μυριάδες πουλιά και έντομα και την εξαιρετικά χαμηλή κίνηση, καθιστούν αυτήν τη διαδρομή, ως μία από τις πιο απολαυστικές της Ηπείρου.
