Thank you. I haven't been able to attend my Karate classes for a whole year now, so finding such clear and humble explanations of techniques is a blessing.

as a beginner the managing the maai by just changing the angle of my knees and ankles really widen my options, thank you for this wonderful information

Very surprise to see a senior Black belt master instruct a student to follow a kickwith a punch while still balancing on one leg.

When in the RAF in the 1970s my Tae Kwon Do master a South Korean ex Major who served in the South Korean special forces and when I was instructing my students stated that all punches got their power from a good solid stance. As a punch was far more powerful on making contact if it had the rigidity, locked and being anchored to the ground meant the strike was not just the fist hitting the opponent but the effect of turning the body effectively into a long pole embedded into the ground.

Having been in Civil Engineering where I was taught Structural Mechanics and later as a Physics Teacher, the principles of Forces I learnt and taught very much agreed with this point.

Also, when doing destruction. i.e. breaking boards and holding them for fellow students I found that ensuring I had a good stance and locking my fist, arm, shoulder, back, hips, leg and foot against the floor I was far more successful in breaking wooden boards.

An exception to this, would be the case of a running and jumping fist punch, where the punch would have the energy from the run and downward direction of the punch.

I would be very interested to read, especially from far more experienced and senior martial artists than me, their opinion of my thoughts. 감사합니다.

Сенсею очень шли усы, когда он снимался в фильме, ,черный пояс". С усами его харизма зашкаливала.
