The most dangerous band in the world! Nobody could top these guys! Especially in their prime!

Slash was 23 at that time and already an absolute rock star.

My fucking god the scream at the intro was the best ever. Is not fair how short that last.... I mean the original formation with all of them not ruined by drugs or ego and sounding like the best fucking band on earth.

The summer of '88 was the summer of G"N"R no band at that time could touch them. That summer, this band was firing on all cylinders. "Appetite" went to #1 on billboard album chart a year after its release. Sweet Child hit #1 soon after that.

The drugs, drinking, and partying was still an issue, but they didn't let it get out of control until later on. Then that coincided with Axl turning into more of a control freak, and then Adler getting fired and Izzy quitting, and it all went downhil after that.

Undoubtedly, Guns N' Roses, since its inception, was programmed to transform the conceptions of Rock N' Roll from the late '80s and set the rules in the early '90s. The best rock band, with a rockstar attitude and chemistry from its essence, kicked down the door of those 'panty-melting' bands of the '80s, damn cheesy ones that only sang 'love' in every song. GN'R showed and rubbed in the world's face its raw, unfiltered origin from the streets of L.A.

the drama and energy Axl created on stage was simply unmatched! Axl was and is a genius! and that voice damn. I have watched him do this song 50 times at least! the drama and energy he throws into it exhausts me just watching it! Axl forever I love him! thanks for posting.

Man. This is the single best performance of this song ever recorded. Absolutely brain-melting.

They've never sounded as good as they did with Steven Adler playing

They came outta nowhere and just exploded on the scene and blew everyone away with a sound we'd never heard before. Totally unique, aggressive and fast. I remember hearing their cassette and seeing their videos and thinking..oh, okay, these guys don't sound like anyone else, they're not going to disappear in a few months. Here we are 37 years later and their impact and influence is still going!

Watershed moment of my youth. I already loved GNR, but after this, I was infatuated.

This performance is what really killed glam metal, not Nirvana. Every kid in my school went from Poison and Def Leppard to GNR after this show aired on MTV

Axl was a Monster at that time. No one was even close. One of the best rock singers ever

Adler was the groove. They don't have it anymore. Saw them in a bar in 87, top 3 best concerts ever.

I remember watching this and just being floored. This was Guns at their peak. Classic lineup, Axl’s voice is formidable. The current Guns are a parody of their former selves.
