Revisiting the 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R - What's in a review?

I first rode the 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R back in March and was quite taken by "The Beast" - So I was really pleased when KTM UK offered to let me borrow the bike for a couple of weeks to get to know it better. Thanks for the great content! I'm a subscriber from across the pond for over a year. Since you produce videos from multiple perspectives - helmet cam, garage cam, etc., it would be great if you could include a shot of yourself sitting on the bike (with or without gear) in your garage, the same angle as this video. It would give us an idea of what the posture looks like with foot on the peg and reach to the ground. Since we know your height, it would give us a better idea of the seating ergonomics and handlebar reach.

acceleration, stats, numbers, instrumented tests rides, with audio of the bike during dialogue breaks aswell as different camera angles of the bike during motion shots and fly bys with exhaust audio dialed in, comparisons etc

Could you please comment on its low speed manners; commuting, lane filtering, etc?
I’ve test ridden the 2015 SDR and it was a fantastic bike but didn’t really like going too slow, which I thought might become a royal pain for commuting and low speed lane filtering. I haven’t got to ride the 2017 and would love to know what it’s like in that regard. Understandably most online reviews focus on the other end of the performance spectrum 😜 but if I’m going to live with it as the one and only bike then it’s got to do the commute as well otherwise it’s a deal breaker and I’ll have to grab a Speed Triple or a MT-10 instead.

I'm only likely to own on bike at a time. Will it fulfil that function. Rush hour commutes to days, weekend trips. And how does it compare to the GS in that regard.

Hello. It would be interesting to know, if the suspension is more or less comfortable on bad roads. The pre-load position of the shock absorber and the tire pressure for your weight and what are your opinions about suspension comfort vs handling for that suspension and tire pressure setup.

All of my bikes have had some kind of fairing and motorways have been no problem - is a bike like the Super Duke viable for long distance motorway riding or is the lack of fairing a complete deal breaker?

what it like on long trips and commuting

Hi TMF i have a 2010 Z1000 which being a four cylinder is very smooth at motorway speeds 70-80 mph is there any vibes with the duke at those speeds, also if you have ridden in the rain do you get wet and muck thrown up from the rear wheel over your riding kit.
