Some people really don't care about how detailed is it, that low high mid frequency thing.... they all cared about the melody and how they feel about it. Audiophile like me really do care about how it sounds in my pair of expensive cans paired with neutron music player... it adds the good feeling when i hear high quality music that seems in front of me while closing my eyes. oh the depth so sweet

Hi-Res to me is like your getting more of the full human sound spectrum (20Hz to 20kHz) from each individual instrument and each person mic up in the music, it sounds more detailed, you can hear more things in the music clearly, like whispers from band members mic up to quieter instruments you didn't even know was there in the music, I understand that Hi-Res has a wider frequency range but our human hearing can't hear all that extra range, only animals and special equipment can detect it but that's okay because I like what Hi-Res did to the rest of the sound we can hear

Going from 320 kbps to lossless improves details but the difference in details is not that huge

I use my smartphone to hear music with a standard usb type c to 3.5 mm analog adapter. Which is not that great than a 4.4 mm balanced adapter output. We can tweak our phone in many ways as possible. As i use poweramp pro app + wavelet app (kz preset) + kz zst iem (that's under my budget). I always download lossless FLAC audio for listening to music. Currently only few pure FLAC file are out there for download. My favourite artist is Michael Jackson and pop music is my thing.
I am planning to get a CCA Planar PLA13 iem headphones + 7hz 71 Dac & Amp as an upgrade to what i am using now.
We all seek for something better than before at affordable price at minimum we can invest.
Great video and interesting information for everyone.

I've got a basic dac and headphones setup like the go link dac and beyerdynamic dt 770 pro(tried flac files and apple music high res audio) . I can certainly notice the difference but I don't know if it's worth the hype.

well, once again, at this point I think I might have defective ears. I can listen up to 18.5 khz in normal volume(22 yo). With my current setup, the jm6 pro and simgot ea500 which is a no joke hi res IEM, I hardly notice any difference, if any at all between spotify premium and apple lossless. I tried to listen very closely, song by song, i dont think i can tell the difference being blindfolded.

I am currently using cca NRA, without DAC, and recently switched to apple lossless. Am I hearing any extra sounds which can't be usually heard, I don't know but but whatever I am hearing is more richer and fuller. It now has body. And sounds so pure. Lossless is definitely worth it.

I have paired my SONY XM5 with an in-built DAC on LG G7, and streaming on lossless through Apple music, I can make out a few details like as you explained @Raghav. Would this difference be more pronounced if I upgrade to an IEM or studio headphones with or without an external DAC?

I have Xiaomi Mi11T pro, it has Hi-Res Audio certification. No other audio specifications were mentioned. Streaming through apple music. Do I still need a external dac. Or is it enough what I have in my phone to enjoy hi-res audio.

The thing is, gear is way more important than whether you're listening to the highest-quality mp3 or the lossless version. That's because most of the missing information in a decent lossy file is beyond most people's range of hearing. A 320 mp3 sounds better on a good system than a wav or CD sounds on a system that's merely okay. I have experienced this very clearly, very recently. Allocate money to equipment first and foremost. Then, see whether upgrading to lossless copies of your favorite music makes a real difference to you. If you live near a public library with a large CD collection, check out library CDs too. The playback equipment itself is where the vast majority of the audio budget should be spent!

Hi, I prefer listen to pop music on my Android phone and use Poweramp Pro (flac audio) and apple music app. I use wavelet app to find the sound signature for kz zst iem preset. I would love to know more about poweramp player and wavelet EQ app best possible settings on android device. Is there any settings in wavelet app that can enhance the music experience on Android devices with usb dac & amp adapter.

This is why I use Audicular CX Pro DAC with Apple Music, but the question is though my phone Realme GT2 supports Lossless Hi Res and the DAC Hi Fi Audio, can my earphone RHA-MA Universal 390 or my IEM VE Bonus IE replicate the information they get? I don't think so, but the quality I get with my set up, I am very happy because at least I get CD quality audio.

The difference is not that big from 320kbps till 2400kbps. I have bought a premium IEM earphones worth of ~$1000. Now I am not able to distinguish between the two.
