The song that saved me.... The story goes.. I was a drug addict, I wanted to die, I was depressed, I was being beaten to near death by an ex partner. A policeman rescued me. A doctor helped me heal & when I lay dying on the floor my mother's face came to me from the grave and said "you can do this, it's just one more fight". I then fought harder than I ever had, to LIVE, because music was my destiny.
Talk to someone about depression or anything that you are going through. Don't think your worth is being beaten or brainwashed into submission & don't ever think that this world would be better without you! I am proof that life can be wonderful.
This song is for all those who dare to speak up against such things. As hard as it is to sing it, I wrote it for my own recovery but also for you, YOU who are fighting the fight.
If you need advice on anything I have posted please contact your local mental health charities or authorities but do not stay silent. With all my love.. Kaz xx

Beethoven said, "playing a wrong note is insignificant. Playing without passion is unforgivable."
Beethoven would cry with you.
I love you

Hi Ms Hawkins, I’m a Social Worker, who worked with the Sex Worker community, on Assertive Outreach, in Liverpool. Our Team were the best and our one doctor, who gave a damn and the Police who worked very hard to safeguard and protect these women and, at times, their young daughters, who had also been introduced into the Life, were all an honour and privilege to work with.

This song and your interpretation brought me to tears, floods of them. The innocence at the beginning and the exhaustion at the end was done with so much raw emotion, compassion and resignation. My compliments to your Accompaniment - the arrangement was so simple and elegant allowing your power to reach the summit. You did these women/girls proud and conveyed a difficult story.

May the God of your understanding, bless you and keep you xx

Such a heart felt song, being an EX addict myself, it resonates a lot of truth, to how I felt going through it...Mistakes were made along the way, and I found myself lying on the floor more than once...Thankfully I am through that period now. Unfortunately I fked a lot of good relationships up over it, (Meaning friends, family, and significant others, over in the process, of finding myself again.) It is a constant struggle to get through, but if you believe in yourself, greatness will come. Believe and keep hope in the darkest recess's of your core. Thank you Kaz for singing this song, For all of you and all of me, Believe it can get better and easier as time passes by. Peace to you all, stay safe, stay healthy and just breathe, keep moving forward, time is short here on this wonderfully fked up planet we call home. I wish the best for all of you.

Even as a non-drug addict it nearly made me cry. We all have something we‘re addicted to and that may destroy us slowly.

35 years of doing dope, I quit in May, since then I lost my left leg, and then, another heart surgery, a month ago, and her music has helped me through it ALL ! I would give anything to watch her live and give her a huge hug 🥺

I don't wear lipstick and I've never done cocaine (or any drugs). I don't even drink. But this song damn near broke me. I'm sitting here crying. Such an amazing, beautiful song sung with such passion and conviction.

I come back here every 6 months, Just to hear you, Tell me, it'll be alright. You should come back to this, and help all the people that feel small...Make them big again. That's what we need to do.

Ok...crying now. A good cry never hurt anyone. It means you can "feel" and you can "heal".

I am free from the shackles that bound me too. HALLELUJAH!!

This has brought me to tears. As a recovering drug addict, the lyrics and heartfelt performance truly spoke to me and touched my soul. I'm now in my 15th year of sobriety....one day at a time. Thank you for sharing, Kaz.
