I hid my conversion from my mom but she found out and it got so bad that I had to set a boundary that we wouldn't talk about it to each other. And that was just from Protestantism to Catholicism!! Yes, she said I was losing my salvation and I think she believes I could go to hell. I asked my brother, who is a protestant pastor, to reassure her that I am not going to hell for becoming Catholic and he said, "I can't do that." I can imagine that it is much MUCH harder to convert from Muslim to Catholicism.
