International Patent Registration or Foreign Patent Registration.

Patent Registration is a Grant for any new Scientific Invention. In this video, we are going to see What is Patent, is there anything called Global patent or International Patent. There is nothing called World Patent or International Patent. For every country, there is different Law governing the Patent Process. But there is a unique procedure followed by all the countries, through a treaty called Patent Cooperation Treaty. The international patent Registration is governed by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) There are more than 150 countries which are signatory in the PCT. India is also a Contracting Country in PCT. If you need a protection even in Foreign Country, you can file a patent though WIPO. First file a patent in the origin county, which is called conventional patent or priority patent. A PCT Patent need to be filed within 1 year from the date of filing a patent application. We can also file an extension. The benefits of PCT filing is that by single gateway, you can file patent in various country. The procedure for filing PCT patent application is that we need to file a PCT application for any of the Patent Office. By paying the necessary fee, you will get the application number for the same.
