Are you looking to learn how to drift on Assetto Corsa? In this video I walk through how to use donuts to improve your drifting skills. Intended to be a beginner friendly drift tutorial, I break the learning process down into a few small steps including regular donuts, countersteer donuts, figure 8s, and slalom. The drills are meant to build on each other in terms of difficulty until you can start linking your first corners. Depending on your driving experience it can take days, weeks, or even months to learn how to drift. While that can be frustrating, the important thing is to take small wins where you can and try not to get discouraged. If you've been struggling, give these techniques a shot!

My Story *********************

In 2022 I purchased a 2007 Nissan 350z to start attending my first drift events, and I've learned quite a bit along the way. The community has been great and I'd very much like to pay it forward and help anyone looking else looking to get into drifting for the first time. Any burning questions as someone wanting to learn how to drift? Send them my way and I'll either respond or cover in a future video.

I forgot to mention in the video, but make sure ALL driving assists are turned off.

For new learners: 1st week sim racer here. Drifting is really hard.Takes time. After a 4 hour session last night, linked my first left right! And started holding longer slides. I still spin literally every other try. Just. Keep. Going. ❤

I’ve been through 10s of videos trying to get the basics and this was by far the best one. Even made me chuckle a few times 😂 earned a sub

Are you planning on expanding the drift lesson videos into a full series? I'd love to see more! Between you and KameTrick you guys are easing the pains of newer drivers like me lol.

Step 1: Lemme stop you right there. The wheel doesn't automatically adjust itself out of a donut. I tried with multiple cars including the ones you suggested using in the video.

edit: I figured it out. I set all of the FFB settings to 0% except gain to 100%, now it does what is shown in the video.

This tutorial is by far the best I've seen and I've been looking for a while now, there's good ones out there but this 👌

Thanks for this! Of all things it was the no handed transitions that resonated with me the most and I was able to replicate it the next session

Your nudge suggestion got me right on track. I'd been trying to do donuts for about two days. Then after watching your video I was able to do donuts after about 5 mins. Thank you!

Hey man really nice tutorial, do you have a tip on how much "user level" i think its force feedback should i put on my g29? I mean, i usually use 60%, should i use 100%? It feels easier to drift on 40%, but i would like to use on a number very close to a real car... if you can help me...

I was just curious what a good starting point for tuning I should be at (for grip, I mean).
