Setting Reel Drag

The biggest mistake people do when having a big fish on is having their drag set too tight and then lifting their rod in the air. Lifting the rod in the air will increase your drag causing your tippet to snap.
Hook and if the fish starts to run point your rod at the fish. Pointing your rod at the fish has the less drag.
Loosen drag 100%
With dry lips firmly grasp fly line and pull and adjust the drag until you can’t pull.
I loose the drag a smidge.
It’s easier to increase drag by touching fingers to the reel, touching the fly line to the rod with your finger or raising the rod.
