Formula 4 ROOKIE MISTAKE in Miami

I made this rookie mistake during a Formula 4 car race at Homstead-Miami Raceway. I was sitting in P4 patiently waiting for a battle to kick off ahead of me, but I made one crucial error on the brakes. Because of the shallow angle, I decided to downshift to 1st gear to maximize exit speed, but the 1st gear in this car is super short which simulated throwing an anchor out. What I should of done is released the brake and kept 2nd gear in order to force the black car to attempt a switchback or take the grass... Lesson learned!

I know I’m kinda late to this post. But I say here the best thing to do is launch a fast move to claim the inside when it’s left wide open from the car infront. I found training the inside to be a very useful move when behind (iracing ofc)

Shouldnt you have broke early shift down to the normal gear or maybe even a higher one and then go throttle early because one of those 2 wouldve def broke later if there was room and then with the exit you couldve Just slipped threw
