We need a direct to consumer sales model. No more superfluous dealers.

When negotiating your trade in, add in things like “seller prep fee” you know you washed and prepped your car beforehand right? And say you put on a new set of tires too so that’s a “tire fee” and you probably filled it full of gas before leaving it with the dealership so that’s a “fuel surcharge” and maybe you even fixed a few minor things right? Well that can be a “seller adm fee” or something. Oh and maybe you even gathered your maintenance records, put them in a binder. Doc fee

I've had similar terrible dealer experiences in the past. Never again.
Now I avoid dealer BS by buying private party used.
I only paid $3k cash and $120 for tax + title transfer on my last purchase. I love it

Yeah man, good stuff. A VW dealer by me was fined by the state of NJ for ripping people off with these fees on cars, like $200 to wash/ detail a brand new car before you take it home? Lol

The fees you mentioned are pocket change compared to the ADM these fools are paying for. I hope all these blood sucking dealers go put of business

I've bought 5 new cars in my lifetime, sadly (and I'm only 46). Most have been WELL UNDER invoice. I think the most I've ever paid is invoice with a nominal processing fee. I don't let them tack on garbage fees and crap I don't want. The absolute most I'm willing to pay is $500 invoice. The only thing is, these purchases took me probably 3-4+ hours of games and negotiation, each. But those earlier purchases are also going back to a time before the internet sales department existed, too.

Is a APex gps fee for $999 normal. Also C-Bond for $999?

Here’s what I would like to see happen, advertise a restaurant special for a steak dinner with drinks and deserts for $20.00 dollars. When you give them the check add a doc fee $6.00 a fuel surcharge $4.00 then a meal prep fee $5.00. When they protest repeat all the lines they use when adding their bogus fees. It would make a hilarious YouTube video 😂

Your DON’T have to pay dealer fees. Dealerships have the right to charge it, but the don’t have too!! A good friend of mine is a finance manager of a dealership. My clients don’t pay me to do paperwork, I won’t pay them to do paperwork.

destination fee does it really cost transport a new car to the dealer at 1000 dollars. the big rig can carry 6 cars ar least on the truck and it cost 6000 dollars total for one trip. bullcrap is what i think

They all say they don't have a markups... Untill you see a dealer added options - that's when you have to say "Fuck off" and walk.

But if one is not smart enough to notice that... You get what you deserve & you shouldn't have an access to such amount of money.

sorry; but dealer administrative fees may be legitimate but the amount you've quoted is not. maybe a couple of hundred bucks. that's it. the rest is fluff.
