2021 Aprilia RS660 review – a fun sportsbike for modern roads?

Показать описание
The Aprilia RS660 seems to be the bike we've all been asking for since sportsbikes got a bit too mental for the road. With 100hp from a parallel twin, a proper chassis, modern sportsbike electronics – it sounds too good to be true. Join me for a ride where we find out if the Aprilia RS660 is too soft to be any fun...

I liked this review. I have this bike and I’m 51 and 6 foot 1 and love it. It’s also only my second bike since passing my test last September, so has enough aids to let you go at your own pace and turn them off one at a time when you feel comfortable to do so. I’m really pleased with it. No faults either. Seen lots of stories of engine warning lights etc but I’ve had not one issue. Have clocked up 2500 miles since delivery in March and only ride it on weekends, so that probably tells you something.

Great review, agree on all these points. You have a new subscriber.

Great review. I recently bought the Tuono 660 as it felt more comfortable and just as sporty. It really is a perfect bike for everything except long motorway rides but that's not what it is intended for. For the moment, I really can't fault it and it puts a huge smile on my face every time I ride. I prefer the mapping of Dynamic mode, but Commute does the job around town.

It's funny how the 600cc sports bike category died it's death some while ago now, yet here they are creeping back as 1000+cc bikes are to much for the road. Bring it on I say, but I doubt that Aprilia could make me smile as much as my 22 year old GSXR 600 SRAD. Now thats got an induction noise!

What a a cracking review, really enjoyed it. I recently tested the APrilia RS 660 and thoroughly enjoyed every second. To be quite honest I didn't wanna take the bike back to Via Moto in Sheffield! ( big thanks to Malcolm in sales ). Yeah it ain't my old 12 plate R6 lunatic license loosing bonkers M****r R6, but at 55 it just ticks all the right boxes! I really loved the bike, yeah the possibility of reliability issues does put me off ( only slightly though! ), but what a fekin awesome all round bike! nice one Aprilia, who ever put this bike up for production absolutely fekin nailed it in one!

I’ve owned 2 CBR600s which I found to be as quick, probably quicker than my fuel injected 1982 GPZ1100 B2 Kawasaki and capable of more performance than most sane people could handle. For a sporty oriented road bike, I can’t see why anyone would want anything larger in terms of capacity or performance. It would go well beside my Beemers- R80GS/R100GSs . These days it would be a Suzuki Vstrom 650 and one of these.

Tempted on one of these. Toss up between this and the street triple RS 765 2020 version. Grab one of them and review it so you can help me decide. Great review by the way one of the best ones yet on these.

We need more of these so called sensible sportbikes, I dont need 200bhp, around 100 on the wheels mind you is more then enough if the weight is in the right range so to speak. But this one is a budgetbike in disguise. Look at the materials used for instance when it comes to the fairings and he head lights. The swingarm is pure 80-90s 250/400 class, but that is a personal thing. What grinds my gears with the rs660 is that the spec is too low for the price. For the price it should weigh at least 10kg less than a st3 or d675. this bike is heave because it is a budget bike with electrical gizmos you dont need on such bike. Just get an used D675 for half the price with the same weight and 30 bhp more. And yes it handles superbly as well.

Having ridden the R7 now would you stump up the extra for the RS660? Also would you say the RS660 is a bike that’s fun on the road at all speeds even for some easy exploring or is it a bike that eggs you on to ride it faster and really a sunday blast type machine ?

By far, this has to be one of the most informative AND witty reviews I've ever seen 💯 (and I've seen hundreds) 😅🤷‍♂️ Jyst subscribed. Found your channel when your Bond Land Rover video was shared with me. So far I'm incredibly impressed by the quality of your reviews, both your candour and your thorough professionalism. If motorcycle magazines still existed, you should surely be a pro motorcycle journalist. You'd arguably have to be one of the best reviewers on YT. Can't wait to catch up on your back-catalogue. Cheers! Keep the shiny side up mate! 🤙🏼

I ride a zx6r in low power to make it more rideable. This is my next bike. Better tech and great engine for a great price. Bidirectional quick shifter

Tim, you review lots of bikes & I bought a '23 Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory last August. Sadly, I only put 260 miles on it (Cancer: radiation/Chemo, Immunotherapy, recovery...) & it sits in storage w/ Aprilia's, Ducati's & Moto Guzzi's 'til I pick it up.
Was the ride memorable? I'm asking since my riding has been extremely limited over the last year or so. Did you write an article to go with the video?
I OWN it, so - if you hated it - too late, I already OWN it. Just checking to see if the ride was interesting enough to remember.
Thanx in advance!
Dave
