This game caused me to get out a notebook and pencil for some puzzles. That has not happened in a while.

I finished the remake yesterday and I loved it! I like that it didn't hold your hand and that you had to actually explore the area for yourself. The puzzles were also a good mix of easy and challenging. Even on light mode, they weren't incredibly easy. The only thing I didn’t like was how you had to view your map in real time. I rely heavily on the map, so it was a bit annoying when I had to refer to it only to get hit by an enemy.

I love how the fog in SH 1 was a tool to handle the render distance, and yet has become this visceral element that enhances the overall experience of Silent Hill titles.

It's been apparent for the last couple months at least from a visual perspective this one's a lot more faithful in the vein of REmake than what Capcom did with 4. I give em a lot of praise for that, cuz it's like none of these remakes attempted to replicate the unique art direction of what they were remaking. Silent Hill 2 has a unique look with a color scheme straight out of Andrew Wyeth's paintings and not only did Bloober Team actually pull it off, it looks really nice doing it. And feels like Silent Hill.

I mean, lets be honest, nobody ever doubted him" Unless your name happens to be the Spherehunter and you openly blast Akira Yamaoka as being good at "Throwing a brick in a washing machine, I get it". But to later claim it was a joke despite no laughter because of the backlash or remake fatigue then.

Its all online already. "Faithful to RE1 remake" Bulls***t my friend. They literally have a scene in the game where they wave around the original Maria outfit in fans faces only to compare it to the modern day censored version that they gave her. Like in EVERY sony involved remake game. Do you know what RE1 Remake did? Gave us all outfits, gave us Jills re3 outfit, gave us Chris's BSAA outfit. A true love letter & fan service. Not here, can't do that in this day and age right?
