Honestly their rendition has a certain charm to it that his and Rosario’s doesn’t. Daphne may not have the perfect voice, but Jonathan never imagined Mimi to sound perfect. Daphne knows exactly how to bring Mimi’s character to life and she doesn’t get enough credit for that. Renee is still my favorite Mimi, but it still bothers me how much flack Daphne gets for not having the stereotypical perfect voice of a Broadway performer.

I'm glad that creatives still have the vision and recognition for voices like theirs. If it was for the people who post here, all Broadway performers would only have legit voices that sound all the same.

everybody getting so wound up against rosario saying daphne the only real mimi lol chill they're both good and brought different qualities to the character, daphne you get the worn out junkie trying to survive and rosario you get the young but trying to be older part of her character

I think in 1996 Daphne fit Mimi's character and had a more rough around the edges feel that came along with someone in the grips of addiction back then. Rosario is different and to me better represents the current "face of addiction". I feel like the opioid crisis has taken so many people that don't fit the normal stereotypical "drug addict" so many of these kids are those polished upper class kids that don't fully fit into the drug world. For this reason Rosarios portrayal has grown on me.

With that said anyone that goes near methadone mile in Boston will see that the face of addiction is very cruel and absolutely destroys anyone it gets a hold of. It's too sad.
