Argentina's President is trying to keep his campaign promise to cut government spending. The senate is debating a major bill put forward by President Javier Miliei -- as part of his sweeping plans to overhaul the economy.

Thousands of protesters rallied outside congress in Buenos Aires ahead of the debate. The legislation has passed the lower chamber but faces an uphill battle to pass the senate. The economic, administrative, and tax reforms are seen as key to the president's success but face stiff opposition from unions and human rights groups.

I hate it when reporters report their interpretation, just report verbatim what the law says

Can you please get an unbiased reported in Argentina? Mr. Rebossio sounds like an opposition mouthpiece not a reporter.

I think it’s a little more complicated. I hope this stimulates the economy and is not just a money grab by the rich.

3:23 YES, Argntina uses dollar to EVERYTHING
I'm Brazilian, I visited Buenos Aires in 2022 and you can pay people with dollars there.
For the Argentinians Unlucky, Millei rejected to join BRICS+, that now is launching a new Banking System that could help them to import goods withour Dollar, further reducing the dollar inflationin the country.

DW's reporting on Argentina is such a scam. They aren't even close to being accurate. They also provide support for socialist policies that they would NEVER accept in Germany. Absolute Hipocrisy.

Argentina really needs to get over this economic nationalism thing. Australia could be as poor as they are if they forbade mining because “Muh foreign exploitation”.

All of S America has seen Venezuela fall from being extremely wealthy to dirt poor. They have seen their neighbor try the hypersocialist experiment and they have seen the disaster that Venezuela has become. Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, chile, peru, they all say under their breath "what happened to Venezuela could happen here."

Less is more. The smaller the state the more freedom of the people.
The government isn't there to control everything but to just watch and make sure that the economy and society is sustainable and peaceful. The bigger the state, the more corruption, unsustainability, economic inequality, etc.
By cutting back heavily on state control it will allow the economy to balance itself.
