What I learned from Scotty: You must say "uhh" when loosening or tightening something.

make sure ALL the air is bled out of the system first, but if it is, change the master cylinder too. One is old, the other is too

IF you have all the air out of the system, then clutch needs replacing inside the transmission. If clutch is rock hard feel, that's it for sure. If it's soft, often air is still there

too hard often means the clutch was installed wrong and is binding. too soft is often a worn clutch mater or slave cylinder, or air stuck inside, they can be hard to bleed out, i often have to use a power bleeder on them

when they get hot, and won't shift, either the clutch assembly is wearing inside, OR the actual transmission is wearing out, overheating, and jamming. Just be sure the hydraulics are working when it acts up, by having one guy step on the clutch while you see if the rod modes in and out at the slave normally

often masters leak inside and don't lose fluid but lose pressure. But if not, it would be internal in the clutch disc or pressure plate

@holmesnmanning In the beginning, you open the bleeder first, then push down. But for the last bleed, push is down then open the bleeder to finish it off. Scotty Kilmer

Scotty: this video was EXACTLY what I needed. I've never had clutch problems before and this video was my noobie introduction to how it works and now my clutch works like a charm. THANKS!

yes, they can leak inside themselves and od that. YOu can bleed the slave or the master separately if you want. But when I work on cars that start to age, I just replace both cylinders cause if air get in em, they have seal problems for sure

@TheDsmGuy08 go ahead, but if they have air, then they are leaking cause air gets sucked into leaking seals.

@quocvbien yes a nut and rod are on the end you can adjust under the pedal

clutch masters often leak inside themselves, so don't lose fluid but lose pressure. bleeding is useless in most cases. If air is in there, then the slave or master needs replacing. Check em for leaks first, squueze the rubber ends and if fluid comes out, replace em

@TranceScene Yes that's true, but I never rebuild any I work on anymore. Because most are aluminum and they pit and kits last only months before they blow again. Scotty Kilmer

@drakovampire Either your clutch cable needs replacing, OR your clutch is wearing out. Check the cable first. Scotty
