08:00 - - I'm glad you decide to use the video and gave an explanation of what you were unhappy with. It's important for new artists, struggling to learn a new skill, to see that even someone as experienced as you has missteps and creates something they are not happy with.

The 2016 version reminds me of the art in Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards".

I actually really like both versions but I think the 2nd one shows more of how you have developed as an artist over the years

I’m incredibly happy for and proud and excited to know that I could be able to make your day like that I’ve been here to support u through SUCH early stages of this channel and it always was magnificent

The progression of your art is really fantastic. Who would’ve thunk that you can get that far in three or four years!?! Hats off…

Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot, not just to be better at painting. But just to get me in a better mood, it really helped me get out of a week of a “depression slump”.

That orange red you used on the second version is so luscious.

Congrats on 100, 000 subscribers Arleesha! You deserve the accolades!! You are an amazing artist and teacher. Thank you so much. I do prefer your second painting better because of the unity of colours. However, I really appreciate hearing about your process. That teaches me as much as anything else. Bravo!!

Arlee, I think we change so much along the years, and when we try to connect with a past drawing is like trying to connect with a different version of yourself, and sometimes that can be difficult, as you not just improved in your skills but changed your tastes and how you see the world around you.
I really loved both of your pieces in this video, but I can see how you were more truthful with your current art style and vision with the second one, as it appeared more fluid and natural (to me at least). I think the joy is to note that even years later and how much we change, you still managed to capture and understand the original idea, because it's all part of your journey as an artist and a person.
Sorry for the deep thoughts and occasional bad spelling. I'm having a really bad day and sometimes I feel a little bit lonely in my art, and your videos always bring me happiness, as you seem to be a very nice and sincere person (which is a little hard to find here on YT) and your art communicates with me a lot.
Congrats on that milestone! You really deserve it. ✨

Literally welling up with tears for you. You've been with me through 2 years of struggling through my diadnosis and life and feeling so bereft of ability and you're there sharing your art with your patient soothing style and it lifts me. Im a skillshare follower too. Still too shy to start posting but when i do you'll be in that too. Thankyou x

I love all of them but the last one definitely feels more natural 💕 It’s so encouraging to see the improvement and growth of my favorite artist, it makes me want to work harder and hopefully improve so much too! ☺️

Just found ur Chanel. and i immediately subbed. Ur voice is so nice to listen to, it’s so positive but also points out things u did wrong. Your art is gorgeous and as a 15 year old who has began an addiction to water colours... in falling in love w/ ur style lol

Thank you so much for keeping in the first redraw bc it's so encouraging to see that even a much more advanced artist like u sometimes isnt satisfied. However I do like the second redraw best. I like how light and airy it is and all the negative space. Also the facial expression is less confusing in the second redraw than the first to me. Awesome work!

I love how you share your whole process with little editing! Including mistakes, things you were not happy with, what you learned, and even losing a thought. That was the best part about this video that we often don’t get to see other artists do. Thanks for sharing!! I will most def continue to watch these
Process videos!

Such a lovely redraw! It kind of made me chuckle that the original one was supposed to be surreal. It seems so ... bubble gum happy! I think your second redraw was a much better fit for the concept! And congrats on the 100K play button! Well deserved!

the paint splatters bit is so relatable haha, a little while ago i covered a painting with a ridiculous amount of white gouache splatters for stars and there were bits left on my glasses for a week!
