1985 ltd crown victoria 302 straight piped cam lobe idle

85 302 wore out , idle on a wore out origional cam

Yep thats exactly what mine sounded like before the camshaft went out. Was poorly serviced when I bought it, looked like they used Quaker State oil. Camshaft went bad one night after work, took the motor apart and could play jump rope with the timing chain LOL
