Hot and Cold Balloon Experiment

Показать описание
You won't believe your eyes as you attach a balloon to an empty bottle and place it in hot water! The balloon will quickly expand and begin to inflate thanks to the air heating up and creating higher air pressure inside.
The exact opposite will happen if the balloon and bottle are placed in cold water as the balloon will deflate.
This hot and cold balloon experiment is a super fun and easy way to teach kids about how high and low pressure/hot and cold temperatures work!
This is a super fun and easy experiment to do at home with just a few simple supplies:
Empty Water Bottle
Balloon
Bowl of Hot Water
Bowl of Ice Water
The science behind this experiment:
As the bottle with the balloon attached is placed in hot water, the air inside the bottle heats up and the molecules move around faster and increase the volume and air pressure enough to inflate the balloon.
Then as the bottle is moved back into the cold water, the air molecules lose energy and slow down. They don't bounce around as quickly and the volume and pressure decrease as the balloon deflates.
