Fatbike Ride Across Frozen Lake Näsijärvi

Riding 10 miles / 15 kilometers across the lake Näsijärvi with fatbikes. Weather was really nice and there was good conditions on ice so trip was really nice! Remember to be careful with frozen lakes, ice might be much thinner on some spots than others!

Being from Orlando, FL I have never ridden my Mountain Bike on a lake on purpose🤣. I would love to try riding on a frozen lake sometime. I was in Namsos, Norway last October. But no Ice.

I live next to Lake Michigan in Michigan USA and I been on many frozen lakes. This looks like you've had several freeze and thaw cycles and this makes for a rough ride on a bike. I wouldn't trust those crusty frozen snow areas without poking them with a rod or pole to see whats For fun sometimes when I was a kid I would walk out on Muskegon lake when a carferry was breaking ice and both hear and feel the ice cracking! Very pretty countryside there! Thanks for sharing this video.

So cool! This is so something that I would do. It so awesome that you can ride over the ice and explore the lake. In Florida USA, that would be impossible no matter the time of year. I'm glad you two had fun!

I bet the next time you and Anni travel long distances across the ice, you two will both have back-packs full of provisions in case you are caught out without shelter, water, food, a fire starter & cooking implements!
