£30, 000 ain't "cheap", amigo - £5, 000 is cheap(as in "you'll have to move to China") and £20, 000 could probably be described as "affordable" for 50% or so of consumers - depending on country, region, income and how much easy money/wealth you have inherited.

MG really turning the screws on the established manufacturers.

I'm looking for my MG4 which is the cheapest of all and I'm sure it would be in top 3.
However I also had MG5 which was a great car but not as refined as the new MG4

Would've been interesting to have seen where the MG4 would've placed.

The Atto 3 from BYD would also have been interesting to see, as it may be a tad less sporty, but still a pretty well rounded package overall.

Not sure if it landed in the UK yet though.

Excuse me, but £30k is not competitive price for most people! They are all too expensive!

Why is a drag race considered to be relevant to how good a car is?

I've currently got a Mini cooper SE. the range is fine for me. never had a problem and the drive all ways brings me smiles. I disagree with the presenter saying you won't more then 100 miles in cold weather. Keep it at 60mph or below, precondition the battery and you will see 130ish miles. Only problem is if you can't charge at home or have a charge point near by then it will be a problem.

Yeah I’m not really buying into this video. It should be renamed “Why you shouldn’t buy an EV that’s overpriced and gives you terrible mileage”

Love these comparison videos to see what the best EV currently is. A comparison table of the stats on the one screen would be useful. Thanks again for the reviews

Shame the MG4 didn't actually get a chance on the track.
I think it would have beaten the Mini.

Where's the MG4? I'm guessing it wasn't tested as it would have won!

Imagine being the person willingly going to a Nissan dealership and spending more than £36k on a Nissan Leaf 😂😂😂

We really do need to move on from the obsession with range. It just isn't relevant to 95% of journeys. Efficiency, which isn't even mentioned on this test, is far more important in most cases.

Prince and range, are the main priorities for drivers.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha….cheap? £30K cheap? People buying them don’t realise how ‘Un-green’ they actually are.

Why is the Hyundai Ioniq not included. It’s such an overlooked EV, providing a decent real world range of 165 miles from its 38kW battery.

MG4 stats at 09:09 seem to mix the Standard range and Long range versions - the SR has a 51kWh battery, I believe

Well done for getting so many cars to compare. My one gripe is the choice of zero to sixty mph as a metric. It dates from half a century ago, before electronic recorders. it was easy to measure, but doesn't represent any facet of normal driving, except perhaps the traffic light grand prix, which most of us grew out of quite early on in our driving lives. Acceleration is particularly important in overtaking and in filtering into fast moving traffic, as in joining a motorway. How about 30-60, or 40-70? These would certainly reflect my driving experience. Do other people agree, or am I just getting old and grumpy?

The MG5 is no more British than I am Chinese! At least the present MINI electric is built in Oxford which will not be the case for the new model.
