Physics of Complex Systems: The Axelrod Model

Sociophysics! It's time someone talked about it, right? Here, we analyze a typical model used to understand consensus formation: The Axelrod Model. This model is very similar to the Voter Model, and exhibits very interesting phenomena, such as emergence of consensus or phase transitions. We explain how the model works using the formalism of statistical physics, then simulate a bit and then talk about the results. There are some special guests in this video: Boltzmann, Landau, Onsager and... of course, Cronenberg Batman. Moreover, the state of the art brand new technology of the DREAAMS machine is implemented in this video. We hope you enjoy it! The main references used were:
