In this video I show you my finished Expression Fiber Arts Sevenlace knitted sweater.
I have started on making Handknitted Christmas gifts, and I have started on my first stranded colorwork hat - the winter sun hat by Donna Druchunas which has been so exciting to make! I think I am officially colorwork obsessed! I also have started knitting a pair of mitts for myself - the Underwing Mitts by Erica Heusser - which are coming along very nicely. I am using the smallest size I have in my Chiaogoo interchangeable needles (size 1) because I want these to be as tight as possible. This is also my first time knitting with Jamieson and Smith 2ply yarn, which I am using to make both the hat and the mitts. I am loving the woolen spun fibers! Sticky yarn is definitely great for colorwork and I know I will be purchasing more to knit with in the near future.

Quilts have always been something that interested me to make, so this week I dove head first into sewing a full size quilt! I am making the jewel box quilt designed by Jordan Fabrics using all batik fabrics. It has been very enjoyable and relaxing so far doing all the straight cuts and stitching.

If you are a quilter and have any tips for machine quilting or free motion quilting, please share in the comments below!

I think I'm kind of jealous of how talented you are. That quilt design looks amazing! Watching this episode (for the first time) has inspired me to 'start' my Underwing mitts that have been waiting in my queue for quite a while now (inspired by one of your more recent episodes). It's -36 celsius where I am today. Definitely indoor knitting weather. :)

Your projects are lovely! I love colourwork knitting. I hope the hat will turn out okay and not too big, because the colourwork on it is just gorgeous.

Just found you Bella...love your style. I have been a knitter for decades, but don't know a lot about sewing. Could you talk about your essential tools for quilt making, such as the rotary cutter and mat. I could use some guidance before I invest in these...as I want to make a patchwork quilt. Also how did you get your patches to hold on the wall?

you could just slightly felt the mitts to fit you better.

I just recently found you and your podcast and I'm loving it! I'm impressed with all the knitting that you're getting done. Also with the way the quilt blocks were staying up on the batting. How did you get them to stay?
