Japan culture:
Did you know Japanese eat croquettes during typhoon?
Whenever typhoon is coming, supermarkets sell “typhoon croquettes”
This tradition is actually originated back in 2001.
Before a typhoon, a user posted on Japan’s biggest anonymous boards, 2Channel, saying “Just in case, I bought 16 croquettes. I’ve already had 3.”
This post gone viral for its randomness and making many people started to crave for croquettes.
Since then, people associated typhoons with croquettes, resulting in today’s typhoon croquettes culture.
Do you want to have it too?

Here in nova scotia they crave potato chips when it storms. Everyone says "a big storm is coming, we need our storm chips!". So now a company makes a blend of different flavours of chips and labelled it "storm chips"
