The COVID-19 pandemic has created a hardship for a number of University of North Dakota students. Loss of jobs, family demands and a lack of support systems have created new stressors for our students.

Consider donating to the UND Angel Fund, which was set up to help fill this need. This unrestricted fund is available for students needing financial help through challenging times.

As of May 15, 2020:
- 60+ applications submitted in the first week the form was open.
- Out of 247 requests received, 97 have been funded.
- $64,483 has been awarded.
- $664.77 is the average payout per applicant.
- An average of 5 student applications are received daily.
- Allocations are granted to undergrad and graduate/med/law students alike.
- Requests from international students are high and will likely continue since they do not qualify for CARES Act funding.

Don't give money to international students, they can call their consulate and get a ticket back to whatever country they're coming from often times for free or take a 0% interest loan for the cost of the flight. Also SEVIS applicants, F-1 visa international students have plenty of money to come here and pay for school, often times in cash. Only support Americans who may actually need help.
