I'm Scottish and we read Enid Blyton and Shakespeare and Burns and we recited the King James version of the Lord's Prayer at primary school every morning and sang moving hymns like There is a Green Hill Faraway. Culturally, we're very similar to England in my opinion. Unfortunately, our decline as a nation is also similar to England.

My local surgery rang to ask me about my ethnicity for some form or other. I said, "English", they said "White British?", I said, "No, English. I'm an Englishman living in England". They told me there was no box on the form that said that. I told them I didn't care, I was still English. We argued, I stuck to my guns, and I suppose they ticked the box they wanted to.

I am an Englishman, born in England. My mother is Welsh and my father is half Irish and half American Brummy. (My great grandfather was from Birmingham but emigrated to America) Still consider myself an Englishman with Celtic and English roots . I want my country back.

As an American who has a little English heritage, I LOVE England & find English culture, history, & the land beautiful & fascinating. I may never get to visit, but I very sincerely hope & pray that your country becomes & stays more truly & fully English, & England! Thank you for being English, & for all you've given to the world, to all of us. This world would be a far, far poorer place without you.

This is the man I want as a Prime Minister, someone with depth and sincerity, who is a true Englishman as I am. Though not so well read, but I knew what I was a proud Englishman. But not so much today because of the betrayal done to me and my country.
