Narcissists can't laugh at themselves. How they see themselves and how others see them is incredibly important and terribly serious to them. Being able to laugh at yourself involves being able to find humor in your own flaws, and narcissists have such fragile egos that they avoid acknowledging their flaws. Anyone who points out a narcissist's flaws - even through humor and jokes - are viewed as enemies attacking them.
